On Wednesday 6th November from 1:00pm-3:30pm. Around 28 partners from local businesses and educational establishments will be presenting their available pathways.
The purpose of the event is to showcase the range of pathways e.g. school leaver positions, apprenticeships, college or university by giving pupils time to engage with as many of our partners as possible. We hope that by talking to and asking questions of the many partners attending, the pupils will be better informed and perhaps establish some important contacts.

Employment Support
The Employment Support Team (EST) is the council's central point for employment support. The team coordinates the Aberdeenshire Employability Partnership, which is geared to help people into work and training.
The EST assists anyone living in Aberdeenshire who is actively seeking employment, or looking to enter education or training to gain full-time or additional employment. We can offer practical assistance if you are returning to the work market following redundancy or after an absence such as raising children or health issues or perhaps you are looking to retrain for a better job.
We offer one to one support from a trained Key Worker, who will assess where you are in the job market, where would you like to be and help plan how we can help you get there.

Stretching across 25,000 acres of Caledonian pine forests, heather-clad hills and fertile farmland, Glen Tanar Estate is situated in Royal Deeside. Home to Scotland’s most easterly Munro, Mount Keen, as well as the tumbling Water of Tanar and the River Dee, Glen Tanar is in the east of the Cairngorms National Park and includes a large National Nature Reserve.
The estate was formed in 1865 when a merchant banker and MP from Manchester, Sir William Cunliffe Brooks, bought the land from the Marquis of Huntly. Brooks made many changes to the glen: he built houses and bridges, the Tower of Ess, the Victorian Ballroom and the landscaped gardens, all of which still stand proud to this day.
In 1905, Glen Tanar was bought by George Coats, who later became Lord Glentanar. The present owners, Michael and Claire Bruce, are the fourth generation of the family to own and look after the estate. Today they manage a thriving and award-winning working estate, which comprises forestry, farming and conservation, as well as holiday cottages, outdoor pursuits and a nationally recognised Victorian Ballroom wedding venue.
Managing the land through a mix of traditional and modern techniques. Tourism and events are key components of the Glen Tanar business model, but the traditional activities of a working Highland estate form a crucial backdrop to these enterprises.

Woodlands Nursery is a purpose built building, specifically designed for childcare and nursery activities. It offers a secure, friendly environment for children introducing fun, activity, learning and sociability. We opened on the 16th of August 2011 after successfully registering with The Care Inspectorate. Children are welcomed and valued for who they are as individuals; they are supported and nurtured to promote active play and socialisation.
Each individual child’s needs are met as Woodlands promotes an environment of equality and safety.
Staff At Woodlands Nursery
At Woodlands we always have your child's individual needs at the forefront of our minds. We aim to provide a professional and well run establishment where parents and carers feel confident to leave their most precious possession, in the knowledge that their child will be cared for as well and as carefully as they are at home.
The Company is committed to excellence from all angles. Investment in staff is fundamental, along with an investment in the children themselves. The basic standards are set by the Care Commission ( Now named Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland) and the SSSC. Woodlands strives to exceed these standards wherever possible and a number of our staff are currently working towards a further Qualification.
In order for us to support your child's development in the best possible way, we employ people with different educational training backgrounds. They all attend regular further training courses, which enable them to bring new ideas and proposals to their daily work - ideas that will also benefit your child!
Qualifications
The Staff all have the necessary qualifications to work with the children and have fully and satisfactorily completed the statutory disclosure process. The staff are allocated to the classrooms to comply with the child/staff ratio set by the Care Inspectorate.
All Staff are trained in Paediatric First Aid, Elementary Food Hygiene, Infection Control, Child Protection and GIRFEC.
